Source code for Central Email Services Overview talk

Abstract

During this talk I will describe the Computing Service's central email facilities from the user's point of view. I will cover the various ways of accessing the Hermes message store and the recommended configurations for users' software. I will describe our defences against email viruses and spam and how users can tune their spam filtering threshold. And I will describe the features for groups and institutions, including the mailing list system and managed mail domains.

Over the past year or two there have been major changes to the central mail services. This is a good opportunity to make sure that uou are fully up to speed on the developments.
