This seminar will look at the Cyrus IMAP server and the customisations
which have been made for Hermes. Likely source material can be found at:

The seminar will be of niche (and indeed rather theoretical) interest: the
issues involved are unlikely to apply to the small single system mail
stores typically found in departments and colleges.  A summary which is

One objective of the new mailstore was to provide good compatibility for
existing users, and the compatibility is close to 100% for the three
predominate forms of access to Hermes (Webmail, IMAP and POP). People
